On the weekend, I did a bike maintenance course. This was the first time I learnt about things more complex than how to fix a puncture (I've had lots of practice with that).
Now I know what a jockey wheel is, the difference between a chain ring and a cog, how to tell if my chain has stretched, and the fine tuning of gears.
I also discovered that my front shifter is stuffed and I'd pretty much been riding with the brakes on for a long time (readjusted the cables and straightened the rotors so the wheels spin much more freely now).

Ride Like Crazy

Ride Like Crazy is a mass participation cycling event, which is an initiative of Ride Like Crazy Incorporated and is supported by the South Australia Police. The purpose of the event is to raise funds for nominated South Australian charities with a focus on cancer research, prevention and treatment and to promote road safety.

The two charities for Ride Like Crazy 2012 are Neurosurgical Research Foundation and the Flinders Medical Centre Foundation.
