Earthwatch is a Not-for-Profit organisation whose mission is to engage people worldwide in scientific field research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment. Every day in Australia and around the world Earthwatch is providing scientists with funding for their research, volunteers to staff their expeditions and assistance to communicate the outcomes from their research. We are working with communities to develop sustainable agriculture, forestry and fisheries and we are inspiring ordinary people to become heroes for the planet. Whether it’s enhancing biodiversity conservation, protecting coastal habitats, understanding and preserving indigenous knowledge systems or mitigating the effects of climate change, our work to find science-based solutions to the threats that confront our planet is now more vital than ever.
