John Hunter Children's Hospital

The John Hunter Children’s Hospital is a 114 bed tertiary referral facility. It is one of only three children’s hospitals in New South Wales and the only such facility in Australia located outside of a capital city.
John Hunter Children’s Hospital treat over 8,500 children (including Day Stay) each year and performs some 18,000 occasions of service in Outpatients each year.
Over 20,000 children present to our emergency department each year.
Staff at John Hunter Children’s Hospital treat children and young people from a wide geographical area stretching from Wyong, north to the Queensland border, and west to the New England tablelands, accepting children up to the age of 19 years.
