Twenty year old Event Management Student Jess from Willetton, together with friends and family is taking one of the biggest challenges of her life as she attempts to bring together her first ever Charity Rock Fest for CP through The Centre for Cerebral Palsy’s Wheelie Big Challenge.

Jess was among the first to put up her hand to take this year’s Challenge, and is receiving wonderful support from local businesses in Fremantle. The experience of organising her first Event is giving Jess the confidence to follow her dreams and go into full time employment in Events Management. Jess is keen to be recognised for the person she is, not the disability she has which is why she is keen to make her first Rock Fest the best ever.

Jess said “I have enjoyed my studies in Event Management and want to use this experience to help raise funds for The Centre for Cerebral Palsy who has been part of my life for the past 20 years”. Jess said “I was amazed at the response I received from so many bands and venues that I had to hold the event over two days, which is fantastic”.

Kathy Kane Manager of Business Development at The Centre said she encourages people to get behind Jess’ Charity Rock Fest and says “It’s always rewarding when people like Jess work with us to achieve the very best outcomes for other people with CP.”

The first concert will be held on Saturday 21 November at The Swan Basement. The second on Sunday 22 November at Mojos.

Both concerts feature a line up of popular local bands. Tickets are $10 each or $15 at the door.

Tickets are limited, to book visit Heatseeker.com.au or contact Samantha at The Centre for Cerebral Palsy on 9443 0276.

If you are unable to attend Jess' Rock Fest you can help Jess meet her Challenge by donating $10 per ticket for family and friends and leave her a message to say 'sorry you can't be there in person' but you will be there in spirit with your 'virtual tickets'
