In honour of our daughter Charlotte, we hope to raise money to help upgrade the hospital's equipment and fund research.

It has been almost a year since we lost our darling little girl. Charlotte was five months old. We miss her so much.

During five weeks, Charlotte courageously fought a rare and fatal condition called 'Generalised Infantile Arterial Calcification'. She was the first baby diagnosed in Victoria.

We are forever grateful to the staff at the Royal Children's.

We did it! It was a beautiful morning with 30'000 people, us, and Charlotte Lea in our hearts. Thank you so much for your generosity. We've raised more than $3,500. A wonderful gift for the Children's hospital.

Herald Sun/CityLink Run for the Kids 2010 for Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal

The Good Friday Appeal is the public face of fundraising for Victoria’s Royal Children’s Hospital. It has provided almost $200 million to the hospital since the Appeal began in 1931. 90 cents in every dollar raised is used by The Royal Children’s Hospital to purchase medical equipment and to fund research.

Giving on Good Friday – ‘that they may grow’ is a Victorian tradition, with television sets tuned in to the 18 hour long telethon; perhaps for the chance to hear a special donation read out, or to learn of the miracles that happen at the hospital. It is all about helping those who are our smallest and most vulnerable.

The great strength of the Appeal lies with the thousands of people from all walks of life, who volunteer their time, expertise and creativity to organise fundraising activities throughout the year.

It is a non denominational, non political organisation that exists solely to raise funds for The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
