In recognition of the challenge those waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant face, in July 2010 Michael and I are board-paddling 55km from the Hawaiian islands of Molokai to Oahu. It is our way of pushing oursleves while raising awareness of the whys and hows of organ donation.

We hope to promote registering on the Organ Donor Register and for those already registered as donors to make sure your family are aware of your wishes - as just because you may be registered as a donor on your licence unless your family gives approval no dontaion can be made.
My eyes have been opened to the importance of organ donation after seeing a close friend in need of a kidney transplant. I hope that we can inspire people to find out more about organ donation and also raise much needed funds for the Children’s Charity – CanTeen. Many children who suffer from cancer find themselves needing transplants to survive and CanTeen is an amazing charity that supports kids and their families through an incredibly tough time.
