This Christmas, you don't have to give another bloody coffee cup to your family, friends or mates at work. You can give a meaningful gift that will make a real difference in the life of a young person with 24/7 care needs.

Following on from the success of our first Youngcare Apartments in Brisbane, we really need your help to commence construction on our second Youngcare Apartments on the Gold Coast. The items you see below are from our completed Sinnamon Park Apartments in Brisbane. The new Gold Coast Apartments will be much the same as the Brisbane Apartments, so you will get a really good idea of the types of specialised care and lifestyle equipment our residents need in their lounge rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms.

We won't actually send you a kettle or recliner in the post, but the individual items you purchase will bring joy, dignity and a brighter future when they come together as an appropriate home for young people. Whatever you give will buy you immeasurable gratitude.

You can purchase something as a gift for yourself, your family or on behalf of a friend. However you decide to do it, just know that it will be appreciated and we'll send you an ecard saying as much. Simply choose the item/s you like best, select "continue" and then follow the prompts. Too easy!

How much do you wish to donate

		$49.00 AUD	FRIENDS ROUND FOR A 'CUPPA'. Who doesn't warm to putting the kettle on and having friends round for a chat? Put this into the context of the fact that 44% of young people in aged care receive a visit from friends less than once a year, and you can see how special this gift is.
		$1,800.00 AUD	RECLINER. Sure it looks nice and comfy but it's also completely essential. Electric recliners ensure residents are adequately supported and can easily get in and out as needed.
		$24.00 AUD	SET THE TABLE. You may have hated having to do it as a kid, but for Youngcare residents' family and friends, it's always a pleasure.
		$65.00 AUD	BATHROOM HAND RAILS. Most of our residents can't shower themselves so these hand rails provide an extra level of support for both the residents and the carers who assist them.
		$149.00 AUD	PRESSURE RELIEF PILLOW. There's a lot of pressure on a pressure relief pillow. Not just to be comfy, but often to provide the support their owners' muscles simply cannot.
		$199.00 AUD	BBQ. Nothing says good times like a group of friends and family burning sausages together.
		$100.00 AUD	LAYING THE FOUNDATIONS. They're not as glamorous as a lounge or a lamp but without these simple bricks, there'd be no Apartments.
		$12,000.00 AUD	CEILING TRACK HOIST SYSTEM. This perhaps is the most significant special care item in each Youngcare Apartment. It allows carers to more easily move residents and affords them a little more independence and dignity.
		$199.00 AUD	A GIFT TO WARM THE HEART. Because of the high level of care needed by our residents, it takes them a lot longer in the bathroom, so this heater will help to keep residents toasty during winter.
		$700.00 AUD	LOW SET WINDOWS. When you consider that low-set windows pretty much don't exist in aged cared homes and the majority of our residents are wheelchair bound, having windows set at a lower height, makes for a far sunnier disposition.
		$350.00 AUD	COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF. Most Youngcare residents can't cook for themselves, but having access to such things as pots and pans in their own kitchens means their families and friends can cook for them in the comfort of their own homes.
