About Purple Day

Purple Day (26 March) is a grassroots initiative dedicated to increasing epilepsy awareness worldwide. The day was founded in 2008, by nine-year-old Cassidy Megan of Canada. Cassidy started Purple Day in an attempt to get people talking about the epilepsy and inform those with seizures that they are not alone. She named the day Purple Day after the internationally recognised colour for epilepsy, lavender.

Being driven by a vision of helping Australian’s live confidently despite seizures, Epilepsy Action Australia is once again embracing Purple Day to encourage Australians to raise much needed epilepsy awareness through Purple Day fundraising activities.

For more information on Epilepsy Action Australia or Purple Day visit our website at www.epilepsy.org.au or phone us on 1300 37 45 37.

Epilepsy Action Australia

Epilepsy is the world's most common serious brain disorder currently impacting the lives of over 183,000 Australian's.

It is an unpredictable and often debilitating condition which is estimated to affect up to 2% of the Australian population within their lifetime.

Epilepsy Action Australia provides vital and often life-saving education and support services to children and adults with epilepsy or other seizure disorders across Australia.

Our vision is that all Australians affected by seizures will have the opportunity to live confident lives.

GO PURPLE and help raise funds for people living with epilepsy.
