Hi! I'm Craig and I'm a Youth Support Worker at Brisbane Youth Service.

I love my job but it’s not easy.

Every day I meet young people who have experienced more hardship in their short lives than many of us will experience in a lifetime.

Each year we are seeing more young people reaching out for support and in need of urgent assistance. Over half of the young people we meet are homeless.

Family breakdown, domestic violence, abuse, poverty and neglect are all familiar themes that shaped the formative years of our young clients and have contributed to their struggle to live confident and happy lives. However, despite their circumstances and whatever hand life has dealt them, I am continually amazed and inspired by their resilience and courage to overcome their challenges and move forward.

You can help them on their journey as they strive to change their lives for the better.

Brisbane Youth Service provides free, confidential services to over 2,000 young people annually, including:

• crisis and transitional housing
• emergency relief
• medical clinic and mental health services
• street outreach
• specialist young women’s services
• parenting and family assistance

As the demand for these services continues to grow, we need your help.

Your generous donation today will make a tangible difference in young people’s lives, helping them move out of crisis and successfully transition to independence. I know this to be true because I see it first-hand every day…

Witnessing such transformations is why I love and believe in what I do.

You can support others, like Chris, to create new futures for themselves by donating today.

Your contribution will make a lasting difference that goes well beyond the immediate benefit.

Donate before 30 June to claim your tax deduction for the current financial year and help create new futures for young people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage.

* At Brisbane Youth Service we respect everyone who comes to us for help – and many are working toward a fresh start in life. So, while their stories are true, client names, ages and images have been changed to protect their privacy. Thank you for understanding.
