A life-changing trek, to the base of the world’s tallest mountain, Everest, to raise awareness of a life-changing charity. Variety - the childrens’ charity providing freedom and independence to sick, disadvantaged and special needs children.

Many live in blissful ignorance. Whilst, the reality of being blessed with good health is something many only dream of. Everyday routine - walking, talking, showering, eating dinner at the table, catching the bus/train - are taken for granted. Having witnessed firsthand the positive impact Variety has on children’s lives, and their families, Everest Base Camp is the perfect opportunity to take on the world’s highest mountain whilst raising for such a worthwhile charity.

Jazmin, a bright effervescent 10 year old girl born with arthrogryposis and a rare muscle disorder makes daily tasks difficult. In the few short years, Jazmin has endured many surgeries  leaving her spine permanently fused and unable to grow. An assistance dog, at a cool $25,000 will give Jazmin her independence and mobility.

The Variety Freedom Program provides children like Jazmin with much needed equipment and services giving them every opportunity to make the most of their abilities and achieve their aspirations and goals. The list of children needing help is growing.

My journey begins with a mountainous target of raising $50,000 and a gruelling 4 months of training in preparation. A strenuous 15 day trek at dizzying heights. A physical and mental challenge at literally a breath-taking altitude.

All funds raised stay in Australia with 100% of proceeds going directly to Variety. All expenses are covered by myself personally.

Make 2012 a year for generosity. Raising awareness of the realities affecting humanity.

It’s the Australian way to help others in need. Help me make $50,000 a reality.

Please give generously.

Thank you for your support!
