Bravehearts with the support of a group of passionate community members have joined together to bring Personal Safety education to the children of Tasmania.
The key Bravehearts strategy for the education and prevention of child sexual assault is Ditto's keep safe education program. This program has been designed and developed by leading Australian and International experts with the purpose of teaching children aged 3 to 8, the skills to keep safe from sexual predators. The program has been delivered to hundreds of thousands of children around Australia with the endorsement of the Federal and State governments.
The program has been independently evaluated and states the program has the potential to reduce the incidence of child sexual assault in our community by up to 50%. Given that 1 in 5 children will be sexually assaulted by the age of 18, we are certain you will agree that this is a vital program for the children of Tasmania.
Community Fundraising Appeal
Please support our appeal and help us bring the Ditto education program to Tasmania and help protect our children. All donations made WILL stay in Tasmania and WILL make a difference.
Challenge Number One: Start Up Costs
- Training and induction for our educators
- Purchase of motor vehicle (typically Toyota Tarago)
- Equipment to deliver the program - costume, projectors etc.
- Office setup
*Total estimate $100,000
Challenge Number Two: Ongoing Costs Each Year
- Employment expenses for three educators
- Resources - activity books and school information kits
- Operational costs
*Total estimate $250,000 p.a.
