Burma Emergency 07 May 2008 Save the Children estimates that more than 50,000 lives have been lost and millions have been left homeless following Cyclone Nargis which struck Myanmar early on Saturday, May 3rd. Early yesterday, Save the Children delivered two metric tonnes of food, plus plastic sheeting and non-food times to distribute to those hardest hit by the disaster. Today, the second stage of the response will provide water purification kits, items for shelter and cash for displaced families.
