INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES PROGRAM

15 Jul 2008 - 20 Jul 2008

Catholic communities in Australia and New Zealand will help young people from disadvantaged communities in our region attend World Youth Day 2008 (WYD08) in Sydney under a new scheme of partnership and cooperation.

Host partners are encouraged to seek out and support young Catholics from indigenous communities in Australia as well as from neighbouring nations such as East Timor, the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea,' Archbishop Wilson said. "Host partners might raise funds to cover the travel and registration fees for these pilgrims to attend WYD or provide other assistance such as warm clothing.”

Go to www.wyd2008.org/index.php/en/about_wyd08 for further information on World Youth Day 2008 and details on how you can register.

WYD 2008

World Youth Day is the largest youth event in the world and will be held in Sydney from 15 - 20 July 2008. Organised by the Catholic Church, World Youth Day gathers young people from around the world to unite in their common faith in Jesus Christ and to build bridges of friendship and hope.

The WYD 2008 campaign is authorised to accept donations from Australian residents in New South Wales and Queensland. Build a Hero Page
