The Red Ribbon Fund
Red Ribbons are the international symbol of HIV and AIDS awareness. Awareness is the first and most important step to considering and understanding any cause. Awareness of HIV is the most important step in its prevention. The AIDS Trust of Australia coordinates national campaigns to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS in Australia. These campaigns are both our greatest cost and our most pressing need. Without them there is silence. Without them the changing faces of HIV in the community are not revealed. Without them people forget. By actively participating in the Red Ribbon Fund, you help raise awareness of HIV in Australia and support efforts that lead to its prevention in the community.

AIDS Trust of Australia
The AIDS Trust of Australia is a national charity and raises funds for the HIV sector.
In Australia, the HIV sector has worked long, hard and successfully to guide, guard and care for Australians in all matters relating to HIV and AIDS. However, the virus still exists and transmission continues. There is still no cure or vaccine. More and more people live with HIV every day. The face of HIV is changing. Our current projects relate to emerging concerns among remote, rural and regional youth; travellers and highly mobile workers; and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Because HIV is still here, awareness of HIV must be constantly refreshed. Because HIV requires a growing, changing and complex response across Australia, more money is needed. The AIDS Trust of Australia raises funds to meet these challenges. Thank you for your decision to join us. We are most sincerely grateful. |
