Red Ribbons are the international symbol of HIV and AIDS awareness.

Awareness is the first and most important step to considering and understanding any cause.

Awareness of HIV is the most important step in its prevention.

The AIDS Trust of Australia coordinates national campaigns to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS in Australia.

These campaigns are both our greatest cost and our most pressing need. Without them there is silence. Without them the changing faces of HIV in the community are not revealed.

Without them people forget.

By actively participating in the Red Ribbon Fund, you help raise awareness of HIV in Australia and support efforts that lead to its prevention in the community.

AIDS Trust of Australia

The AIDS Trust of Australia is the national fundraising organisation for the HIV sector.

In Australia, the HIV sector has worked long, hard and successfully to guide, guard and care for Australians in all matters relating to HIV and AIDS.

However, the virus still exists and continues to spread. There is still no cure or vaccine. More and more people live with HIV every day.

The face of HIV is changing. Global travel has become the norm. Communities are mobile as never before. Each generation has its own vernacular and view of the world.

Awareness of HIV must be constantly refreshed.

Responses and needs may change, but for our HIV sector, the challenges of protecting, educating and caring for Australians continue to grow.

The AIDS Trust of Australia raises funds to meet these challenges.
