The annual Macarthur Swimathon for Cystic Fibrosis will be held on Saturday February 11, 2012 at Wollondilly Community Leisure Centre in Picton.
Swimmers from all over NSW took part in last year's event which raised more than $50,000 for CF NSW. It's a fun day for the entire family, with swimmers of all abilities and ages welcome to take part in the free event. Last year we had swimmers in our flippers and floaties lane and some very fit athletes swam hundreds of laps in our endurance lanes.
For the third year running a Swim Launch event will also be held at Camden Valley Inn with a major auction and Hennings Diamond Draw on Thursday, February 9 at 6pm. The launch will include dinner, drinks, entertainment, a jumping castle, face painting, the major auction and a special diamond draw.
The swim event is free and Launch tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for kids and $50 family. All money raised at these events will go directly to CF NSW.

Cystic Fibrosis NSW
Affecting the lungs and digestive system, Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the most common life-threatening recessive genetic condition in Australia. Children born with CF live with a daily regimen of physical therapy and around 40 enzyme tablets to aid digestion. Whilst there is no cure as yet, average life expectancy has doubled in the last 20 years and is now into the late thirties. CFNSW provides a range of support services and funds vital research through the Australian Cystic Fibrosis Research Trust.
Your support will help CFNSW continue in its mission to improve the quality of life for those with CF and their carers, through the provision of important services including counselling, education, financial assistance, respite and practical support in dealing with the day to day challenges of living with CF. |
