Walk for Kids

Supporting Mater Little Miracles, and in particular the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Mater Children's Hospital, Walk for Kids is a fundraising campaign founded by Matt Roue and North Lakes Rotary Club.

On March 18 & 19, 2010, Matt and fellow Rotarian Rob Needham will lead a group of walkers on a 100km walk from North Lakes to Alexandra Headlands on the Sunshine Coast.

On Sunday 21 March, the Rotary Club of North Lakes will be holding a 5k and 10k walk. Starting and finishing in Friendship Park (Fairway Chase) Northlakes. All are welcome to join in and help raise money for the Mater Foundation.

Mater Foundation

The Mater Foundation is the philanthropic and community arm of Mater Health Services and the Mater Medical Research Institute, harnessing corporate, community and individual support to Mater; to help ensure the half a million babies, children and adults treated in our hospitals each year, have access to exceptional care.

Donations to the Mater Foundation fund the purchase of life-saving medical equipment and improve patient facilities, ensure Mater’s world-renowned research team continues to find better ways to diagnose, treat and ultimately cure life-threatening diseases, and develops important health care projects which address unmet community needs.
