I would like to ask for your support in the challenges that lie ahead as I prepare forand compete in this race in Morocco; every dollar you donate will be matched by the Macquarie Group Foundation, dollar for dollar. Through your support and my commitment to finish this challenge, we have the ability to make a difference.  Naturally, I will personally cover 100% of my costs of doing the event. 

Some describe the marathon de sables as 'the toughest footrace on earth". It seems an appropriate description as a small contingent of athletes push themselves to the extreme level of human endurance.

Six marathons in seven days, 250kms in total crossing sand dunes, covering rocky terrain and running salt pans in searing temperatures often as high as 50 degrees Celsius. The most gruelling segment a double marathon of 82 km with another marathon the next day to back that up.

Total self sufficiency with packs carrying food, cooking stove, clothes, sleeping bag,  medical needs, on their back...

Nine litres of water a day.....

800 competitors all with one goal.....

Run, walk, scramble, whatever it takes.......to finish.....
