OOSH Fundraising Day has now finished 20 Mar 2010 - 20 Mar 2010 Saturday 20 March will be a day of celebration in Cootamundra when Mission Australia re-opens its Out of School Hours Care (OOSH) centre.
Running since 2004 and providing a critical service in the area, the location of the OOSH program has been fraught with problems and even faced closure earlier this year. But thanks to the Cootamundra Blues and the generosity of Blues President and local builder Rod Knagge, those problems are now a thing of the past and OOSH has a place to call ‘home’.
The OOSH program’s new home will be the Australian Rules Hall – at AFL Oval, Wallendoon Street, Cootamundra – and locals are encouraged to come along between 8:00am and 2:00pm to celebrate the new location and join-in the many fun activities, while fundraising for this vital service.
Taking place on the day will be face painting, a jumping castle, a barbecue, DJs and live bands, and car boot sales. There will also be a silent auction on the day with fantastic items for auction including: Quest two-night accommodation packages at chosen locations in Australia and New Zealand, X box and 10 game packages, DS Nintendo games, a timber rocking horse, a timber children’s bench, children’s toys, and various other items. All proceeds raised on the day will go directly towards the OOSH program.
For those unable to attend the re-opening but who would like to donate to the Cootamundra OOSH program, you can do so by clicking ‘MAKE A DONATION' on the menu above. |
