RSPCA Second Chance has now finished

Sarah and Germaine's story...

Early this year, RSPCA Inspectors responded to a cruelty complaint involving two kelpies abandoned in a filthy, run down factory, with no food, water or bedding.

When found, both dogs were extremely emaciated, in urgent need of veterinary treatment and care. After being rushed to the RSPCA Burwood East Shelter, the dogs who have now been named Sarah and Germaine, were found to be severely dehydrated, suffering from hair loss and badly overgrown nails and weighing almost half of what they should weigh. However after two months of intensive care and treatment, both dogs are fighting fit and have left their old lives behind.

Just like Sarah and Germaine, thousands of animals are in desperate need of a second chance at life, but you can make a real difference!
