The Relics of Pier Georgio Frassati has now finished

07 Apr 2008

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati was born in Turin, Italy, on Holy Saturday: 6 April, 1901. He was known for his profound spiritual life from an early age, which manifested itself in many works of charity. Pier Giorgio Frassati is much loved by the young people of the world for his dynamic personality and commitment to charity in love for Jesus. A layman who lived only to 24 years of age, his love for sports, friends and the poor make him an ideal model to propose to Australians. At the funeral after his early death hundreds of families emerged to testify to his personal commitment to them. His embrace of social justice as a university student makes him a hero to young pilgrims. A Saint for the Youth of the Third Millennium, Pier Georgio Frassati is an example to all youth of the power of faith and dedication in Christ. The Catholic communities in Australia and New Zealand will help bring the sacred remains of Pier Georgio Frassati to attend World Youth Day 2008 (WYD08) in Sydney under a new scheme of partnership and cooperation. NB – All donations to this project are entitled to Deductible Gift Receipts.
