Coastcare Life on the Edge Challenge has now finished

01 Dec 2008 - 31 Mar 2009

Life on the Edge is a fun and practical initiative by Coastcare to encourage all Australians who use and love our incredible coast to give back to local volunteer groups who look after the coast. Life on the Edge’s goal is to collectively travel the entire length of Australia’s coastline while helping to raise funds in support of the more than 2,000 Coastcare groups and 60,000 volunteers who work to maintain and improve our favourite playground. Life on the Edge is about getting out and being active using Australia’s coasts and beaches, and realise what an amazing environment we have been blessed with. The 100km can be covered by any form of non-motorised travel. Walking, running, cycling, surfing, kayaking, canoeing, sailing…even scuba diving and snorkeling (10 hours underwater) are eligible forms of movement in racking up the 100km. And if you don’t think you can make the 100km on your own- get a group together, or get your family to join you! Great prizes to reward you for your support and for the top fundraisers! • FREE Life on the Edge T-shirt for all participants • Attendance to our VIP function with sports ambassadors for those raising over $500 (in Sydney) • Great prizes and prize draws for participants and their sponsors. Prizes go not only for top fundraisers, but also the most interesting and engaging challenges! For tips on fundraising, go to the Ideas section of www.lifeontheedge.org.au. You will also find tips on sport activities from our ambassadors, and info from experts on our coastal environment.
