Beer and Beef Club Function has now finished

26 Oct 2011 - 06 Apr 2012

James Flynn  and the Graham Wood Quartet are rare Jazz entertainers  who can interpret the beautiful lyrics of standard tunes the way they were meant to be sung.

Proceeds from "1920's and All That Jazz" fundraiser will be used to support Beer and Beef Club Perth Edith Cowan Brewing Scholarship and People Who Care’s Power a Pensioner. (See more information on top link)

The Beer and Beef Club of Perth is proud to support Edith Cowan University Graduate Diplomas of Brewing . The relationship between a consumer group like the Beer and Beef Club and the University is a first in the brewing industry, with Club members wanting to give something back to support the education of young brewers.

The scholarship is used each year to further the knowledge and understanding of the brewing industry.

People Who Care’s Power a Pensioner  is about giving a hand to Perth’s and the South West's  frail aged pensioners who rely solely on the pension and are living in extreme poverty.

Proceeds  will be used to help cover utility costs, provide food parcels, and cover emergency rent for pensioners in extreme need.

For many pensioners this will mean they can turn heating or air-conditioning on for two – three hours a day rather than one, or even pay a utility bill rather than turning the gas, power or phone off. Others will be able to subsidize current diets of bread, baked beans and soup with staples such as rice, fruit and vegetables and even poultry, meat or fish. And can even sneak in the odd chocolate and biscuits.
