We'd like to thank all the supporters of our fundraising - we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of all who donated and all of the team who grew mullets and their families and we are thankful for the time put in. We look forward to doing it again in 2010.
Joshua Karl Nicolosi, our son was born on the 6th of June 2005, he is our first born child and he brought great joy to our already blessed life, at the age of 4 months Joshua was diagnosed with epilepsy, he started with just micro seizures which then increased to full tonic clonic seizures that would last from 3-5 minutes. The medication Joshua was on controlled these seizures well but at that age they grow so fast it continually needed adjusting, usually after another seizure. As we live in Mount Isa we made lots of trips to Townsville to see Joshua's Paediatrician. Joshua was not affected in his developments and we were always confident that we would not let it stop him from doing most things.
On the 26th of January 2008 at the age of 2 1/2 Joshua passed away after having a seizure in his sleep through the night, our world came crashing down around us in an instant.
Thanks to the strength from God and great support from our family friends, church family and work colleagues we have made it through the first 12 months and our tears and sadness are now been replaced by smiles and laughter of the found memories we had of our son and brother.
Our sons life has inspired us to do as much as possible for the short time that we are here for the less fortunate people of the world.
This is why my wife Nadine, daughter Charli, myself and work colleagues have decided to Support Epilepsy Queensland. So I encourage you to either join the Team and Grow a Mullet of your own or just Donate your funds to a Great cause and we thank you in advance for your generosity.
Karl, Nadine and Charli Nicolosi
