"Capping for a Cause"
Capping for a Cause, (or C4C), is a 6v6 fundraising competition involving a maximum of 16 teams fighting it out in a double elimination scenario. However there is a twist! In order to raise money, teams are asked to "buy their seed" in the competition by simply making a donation upon sign-up. The higher the donation, the higher the seed, the easier their path through the double elimination. Teams can sign up with a minimum donation of $30.00AU
Going beyond teams making donations, ozfortress.com will also match every cap out during the competition dollar4cap...much like the commonwealth bank donate $1000 for every 6 hit during the summer.
Sign-ups will take place over a two week period Starting April 1st
Key Dates:
Thursday, 1st April 2010: Signups and donation nominations OPEN
Wednesday, 14th April 2010: Signups CLOSE
Thursday, 15th April 2010: Seedings released and Donations OPEN
Thursday, 22nd April 2010: Donations CLOSE, Match Discussions and Format RELEASED
Sunday, 25th April 2010: First round of matches BEGIN
Key Format Notes:
Double Elimination Format
16 Seeds available, conditions apply
Divisions possible depending on signups
Prizes:
This isn't a normal competition, and neither is the prize format! Teams play for tickets throughout the tournament which will then go into a raffle drawn at the end of the tournament.
How do you accumulate tickets? Glad you asked!
* 10 to 1st place
* 5 to 2nd place
* 2 to 3rd place
* 3 per match won
* 1 per match played (non for forfeit)
* 1 per cap
We then use the !d (total number of tickets) function in #ozfortress to pick ticket numbers
The winner gets to pick any prize from the prize pool (1 prize per ticket, max 2 prizes per team, no duplicate tickets). Oh yeah, and the winner of the competition will get automatic first choice of their prize too!
