On Bella's behalf, we say a big thank you to the families in the QLD fishing community for their overwhelming support and generosity. With your help, we've raised over $2,300 for the Mater Foundation to date - what a tremendous effort!
As I update this blog, Bella's 5th birthday is fast approaching and she is keeping very busy with her transition-to-school program in preparation for her starting kindergarten in 2011. Bella visited her new school for the first time last week - it was a special moment for all our family, with some very proud tears shed by her Dad and I that day.

The Mater Foundation is a charity our family holds close to our heart. We are passionate about raising funds for this worthy cause as a sign of our gratitude for the exceptional care given to our precious daughter, Bella Kate, during her time of need.
Bella contracted bacterial meningitis when she was only 10 days old and was admitted to the Mater Childrens Hospital for eight weeks of treatment. During this time Bella developed complications from the meningitis and underwent numerous procedures by the Mater's Neurosurgeons.
Brave Bella is now 4 years old, and despite the challenges she faces each day, she has an energy and enthusiasm for life that is inspiring to all who meet her.
We are very proud of Bella, and eternally thankful to the dedicated healthcare professionals at the Mater Childrens Hospital who helped make miracles happen for our daughter.
Please help them continue providing exceptional care for other children by making a donation today.
