This particular fundraising initiative not only assists HEART KIDS, their families and hospitals but it will also save the lives of hundreds of Australian children.

We have attached a picture of the Radio Frequency Puncture System which will assist children in the congenital cardiac units and be used by the interventional radiology team at the Children’s Hospital Westmead.

Surprisingly Australia does not have this machine, despite being on the Children’s Hospital Westmead’s wish list, the main benefit of this machine is that it will give a group of patients the opportunity to have minimal invasive procedures instead of undergoing major open heart surgery, ultimately saving young lives.

In order to raise the $30,000 to purchase the Radio Frequency Puncture System and raise awareness a team of us will be walking the 100km Kokoda Trek in April 2012 and straight after that we will walk the endurance walk (100kms in 24hrs.)

Major sponsors will receive media coverage in the local newspapers, radio advertising and will be featured on websites and clothing.
