In late 2007 I had a mole on my left ankle that kept getting itchy and bleeding every so often, my wife convinced me to go get it checked, lucky for me I did because the mole was a Melanoma 1.95mm deep, after the first operation my doctor discovered that 1 of the lymph nodes in my groin had micro spots of this terrible disease, I then had to have another operation to remove the rest of the nodes in that field, which lucky for me again they all came back clear. Did tiny cells get away, I dont know time will tell. Im trying my dam hardest to make sure it doesnt come back. I now realise how precious life is and want to do anything I can to help get the awareness out there. So being sunsmart and staying away from the dangers of solariums is the message I want to get across. Feel free to help me "Ban the Tan this Summer". Lets keep Clare Olivers Legacy Alive!

Clare Oliver Challenge for Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre

The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is the only specialist cancer hospital in Australia. It also houses the largest cancer research group in the country.

Cancer touches all of us either directly or indirectly during our lives. Today, more than half of those diagnosed with cancer will have a successful response to treatment. This significant progress is due to the dedication of clinicians, nurses, scientists, volunteers and benefactors, who are all creating a better future for people touched by cancer.

Sir Peter MacCallum believed that nothing but the best is good enough in the treatment of cancer. We strive to maintain his dream.
