A month ago I was diagnosed with Melanoma on my back. My GP noticed an 'odd' looking mole which I had removed. Results came back and it turned out to be cancerous. Within a few days of that I was in hospital having more of the area removed. It was the most stressful and emotional time of my life and something I wouldn't want to ever go through again. Thankfully it was caught in time and was able to be contained. I now have to be checked every 3 months so it's something that will always be on my mind. Thanks to a very thorough GP, I'm one of the lucky ones and was treated in time, but many people aren't and lose their life to this cancer. Please support me in the 'Ban the Tan' and help raise funds for Melanoma research as 1500 people die each year from Melanoma.
Also, please have your skin checked by a doctor or mole clinic. It's such a simple check that can save your life!
