I’m an avid believer that the most lasting gift is teaching those less fortunate to help themselves.

Project TOTO (The Overseas Training Operation) is a unique program by ActionAid that helps locals in poverty-stricken and oppressed regions to harness the power of social media to secure their human rights. By bringing their own plight to the world, they can entice international pressure and garner public support.

While they’re out of sight, they’re out of mind, so help shine a light on injustice.

In order to continue the program, ActionAid needs to raise $10,000. It’s my aim to help them raise a tenth of that. Please use the ‘donate now’ button above to make a contribution.

Project Toto for ActionAid formerly known as Austcare

ActionAid Australia was first established in 1967 as Austcare, a national association dedicated to the rights of refugees. Austcare's initial goal was to raise awareness among the Australian community and government of the needs of the growing number of displaced people around the world.

After working together in many countries, Austcare formalised its relationship with ActionAid by becoming ActionAid Australia on the 1st June 2009, thus completing the transition.

We now work in partnership with over 2,000 organisations - from small community groups to national alliances and international networks - to address the root causes of poverty, not just the effects.

As ActionAid we do not impose solutions. Our approach is unique. We work with communities over time, using our resources, skills, knowledge and networks to strengthen their own efforts to end poverty. ActionAid gives a voice to the poor and marginalised by taking their fight to those in power. We campaign at the local, national and international level to achieve lasting change.

We look forward to what we can achieve as a part of this global approach to ending poverty.
