Our friends Amanda and Graham that both had Diabetes Type 1 and who are both vision impaired and both had transplants. They both continue to inspire us to keep cycling.

In August 2012, Dean who is vision impaired from an eye disease (RP) and myself Donna will be cycling on a tandem bike from Cairns to Brisbane 1700kms, unsupported and totally on our own. The 'Diabetic Association of Queensland Limited' is the peak body for people with diabetes and provides a powerful voice for the diabetes community, which comprises about 300,000 Queenslanders and their families.

Our organisation is committed to minimising the impact of diabetes on society, helping all people affected by diabetes and contributing to the search for a cure. Our work covers type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes.

We rely on the generosity of our caring community, members and supporters to help fund diabetes education and awareness activities which aim to turn diabetes around in Queensland.
