There's not many causes more important than those that involve the welfare of children, and this great event raises much needed funds for children and families coping with various developmental challenges. Plus it gives us middle-aged folks with a few extra kilos a good excuse to get outside, get some exercise, and meet lots of great people. Lifestart Kayak for Kids 2010 for Lifestart

Lifestart is an Early Childhood Intervention Service for children aged from birth to school age who have an intellectual disability or developmental delay. It has seven centres across Sydney in Maroubra, North Strathfield, St. Marys, Baullkham Hills, Eastwood, Pennant Hills, Turramarra and French's Forest. Lifestart employs a range of specialist staff including Special Educators, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists as well as a Behavioural Specialist and Social Worker. Lifestart's service is play-based, trans-disciplinary and works closely with families to achieve the best possible start in life for their child.
