Why am I participating in the 2012 Kidney Rally?
The main reason was that in 2008 I was diagnosed with Kidney failure and subsequently had a transplant in May 2009 with my wife, Lee being the donor. I did not quite get to the planned date before my kidneys completely failed requiring me to have dialysis for 2 weeks before the operation.

Kidney Kar Rally Kar 2009 for Kidney Health Australia

Australian Kidney Foundation trading as Kidney Health Australia’s vision is to saves lives and reduce the need for dialysis.

Kidney Health Australia is a non-profit organization with a mission to advance the public health agenda through awareness, detection, prevention and management of kidney disease in Australia and our region.

Kidney Health Australia is a national organization with offices in each state of Australia with a rich 42 year history that has seen our focus broaden to the provision of services and programs around prevention, detection and treatment of kidney disease.

We aim to educate the Australian community, General Practitioners and high risk groups about how to avoid kidney disease. We will do this through educating them to be pro-active about having their kidney function tested as kidney disease has ‘no warning signs’ unlike other diseases.
