EVENT DETAILS 

Date: Sunday 27th August 2017

Location: Rond Terrace, Parkes, ACT. This is where we’ve started the walk in previous years. Click here for the map of the meeting point.

Start time: Registrations will open 9:30 am and the walk takes off at 11am.

Course: The walk will start at Rond Terrace and then proceed through Common-wealth Park. The course is the same as we have walked in previous years and is mobility friendly and suitable for wheelchairs and prams. Course marshals will be stationed at spots around the Walk to direct and assist walkers. The walk is about 1.6 kilometres or 1 mile. We will walk rain or shine but please keep up to date with Walk developments on our Facebook page. See the bottom of the page for the walk route. People can also take a shorter Walk outlined on the map.

Parking: There is a public carpark adjacent to Rond Terrace. Further parking is available at Kings and Commonwealth Parks.

Toilets: There are public toilets on the Walk route, in Commonwealth Park. See the map of the route at the bottom of the page. 

What's on: There will be lucky draw prizes, a sausage sizzle, coffee stand, face-painting, warm up conducted by Neurospace, demonstration by our dancers and an opportunity to buy paintings from our Painting with Parkinsons group. We will also have some chairs for people with mobility issues.

Cost: $20 for each person or $50 for a family of two adults and two children.

Prizes: There will be prizes for the two people who raise the most money. First prize will be a Fitbit. There will also be prizes for the two teams that raise the most money. The winners of these prizes will be announced on the day. The winners of these prizes will be the highest funds raised as of the 23rd August 2017 5:00pm AEST, noting that online fundraising will be possible until the end of November 2017.

On the day registration is available. Ensure you leave plenty of time to register before the event.
