27 volunteer trekkers from the UON community of alumni, business leaders, students and staff will trek the Larapinta Trail in the Northern Territory. With the goal of raising over $100,000 to support Indigenous education, health, research and community initiatives, the champions will trek 65km from the 15-19 August 2017.

The funds raised may contribute to:
• Research into chronic Indigenous health issues
• Supporting Indigenous students through scholarships
• Supporting future Indigenous leaders of our community

Please support a trekker today!

logoThe University of Newcastle is proud to lead the way in Indigenous education. We have graduated a third of the country’s Indigenous doctors and also have the largest number of Indigenous students of any Australian university. We recently celebrated the remarkable success of the Wollotuka Institute's accreditation by the World Indigenous Nations Higher Education Consortium – an Australian first.

We are organising this challenge as part of our commitment to excellence in Indigenous education, equity and social justice. Please help our trekkers raise over $100,000 to support Indigenous education, health, research and community initiatives and have a lasting impact on projects that transform lives.
