Wollongong Information

Thanks to our wonderful volunteers in Wollongong, we are excited to be having the 5th Wollongong Unity Walk in the Park.

Address in Wollongong:

  • Stuart Park, North Wollongong, (Cliff Road, North Wollongong NSW 2500)
  • Meeting point at Stuart Park - Wollongong Foreshore (opposite entrance to Skydive The Beach)

Distance:

  • 2km return starting at Stuart Park along the recently opened Blue Mile Walk with breath taking views of North Wollongong beach. The new walking track is fully accessible for prams or use a wheelchair

Schedule: 

9am - registration opens 

9:45am - Walk Warm Up 

10am - 2km walk starts 

11am - Sausage sizzle & mingle 

12:00noon - event concludes 

Getting there:

We highly recommend all participants catch public transport or carpooling to the event. Great news is that public transport on Sundays is capped at $2.60 for all Opal card customers. For more information on catching public transport check out https://transportnsw.info/.

On the day:

Upon arrival in the morning: 

  • pick up your participation pack,
  • grab a coffee from the Bar Pellegrini Coffee Van
  • get yourself and your team organised,
  • make up your team sign at the Art for Parkinson’s station,
  • buy a Parkinson’s NSW cap or water bottle to get ready for the walk,
  • join us in the warm up lead by Body Dynamics
  • LET’S WALK!

After the Walk:

Make sure you stick around after the walk to mingle over a sausage sizzle from the Wollongong Lions Club, or perhaps treat yourself to a hand and neck massage by Purple Sister Massage for a gold coin donation. Feeling thirsty? Grab a beverage at the Bar Pellegirni coffee van.   

What to bring:

Suncreen, water, money for merchandise, picnic blanket and chairs to hang around after the event and meet the local community over a tasty sausage sizzle. Most importantly bring your family, friends, dogs and the entire neighbourhood. Oh and don’t forget, if you are bringing your dog, please bring doggy waste bags.

There are public toilets available at Stuart Park close to the Unity Walk in the Park meeting spot.

Child (6-15yrs) - $20
