It’s that time of year again when the WA Kitesurfing community fly the kite for children and young people with cancer in the annual WAKSA Redkite Downwinder!

This year the event will take place on 11 December 2016 and will be followed by the WAKSA Christmas party. Sign up and join in on the fun whilst raising much need funds for families facing their child’s cancer diagnosis.

Redkite provide essential financial, educational and emotional support from the devastating point of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. WAKSA’s ongoing support of these services is celebrated every year on this great day of kiting. Get on board for your chance to win some great prizes as the highest fundraiser!

Meet at Scarborough beach at 12pm for a bus to Leighton, followed by the WAKSA Christmas Party at Floreat Surf Club from 4pm.

Participants need to register on the WAKSA webpage www.waksa.org.au. There is a $30 entry fee which will go towards covering the event expenses and insurance for those who are non-members.

For registration details, fees and more information, please contact Drew Norton at drwnorton@gmail.com or visit the website at www.waksa.org.au.

Redkite supports children, young people and their families through cancer by providing real and practical support through the cancer journey – from the very moment of diagnosis, throughout treatment and when families return home to their community.

Redkite’s vital services include emotional, financial and educational support for the whole family.
