Assistance Dogs Australia

Assistance Dogs Australia is a national charity that trains high quality dogs to help people living with disabilities.

We support people with physical disabilities, children and families living with Autism, police and military personnel with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, as well as placing Assistance Dogs in schools and community facilities.

Each Assistance Dog costs $35,000 to train over two years. Our dogs learn more than 50 specialised commands to meet the specific needs of each person living with a disability.

Uniquely, Assistance Dogs are placed free of charge with an individual or family, providing support for up to 10 years of the dog's working life.

Our Assistance Dogs are beautiful, intelligent, loving animals. Their tireless efforts enhance the lives of people with disabilities. The difference they make is life-changing.

To date, we have placed over 300 Assistance Dogs with clients. Currently we have approximately 140 people on our waiting list.
