Australian Wildlife Conservancy

AWC is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation of Australia’s threatened wildlife and ecosystems.

AWC acquires land, and works with other landholders, to establish sanctuaries for the conservation of threatened wildlife and ecosystems.

AWC manages 29 properties around Australia covering over 6.5 million hectares in places such as north Queensland, the Kimberley, western New South Wales, Northern Territory and the forests of south western Australia. This makes AWC the largest private (non-profit) manager of land for conservation in Australia and one of the largest in the world.

AWC aims to ensure that its sanctuaries act as 'catalysts' for broader landscape scale conservation efforts. Accordingly, AWC works closely with its neighbours to also promote conservation beyond the borders of each AWC sanctuary.
